Qualifications and registration
Lian Vandenberg is a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA PSY0001121572), with more than 25 years' experience. She holds a M(Couns.), Grad. Dip. Ed. Psych. and B.A (Psych.). She is a Board-Approved Supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia, a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (MAAPi), and a Medicare-registered provider.
Lian works with evidence-based approaches — Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Schema Therapy — tailored to each client's needs, strengths and goals. She has a particular interest in integrating psychology, neurology and contemplative practices to support whole-self balance and wellbeing.
Presenting issues I work with
Lian provides psychological services to clients aged 16 and over, across a wide range of presenting issues including but not limited to:
anxiety, depression and low mood
stress and stress management
adjustment difficulties and life transitions
grief, loss and bereavement
difficulties resulting from trauma
interpersonal and relationship difficulties
communication, assertiveness and self-esteem
intimate partner violence
chronic conditions
self-care, relaxation and personal development, and
workplace concerns including workplace bullying and work–life balance.
Eating-disorders credentialing
Lian is an ANZAED Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC-MH) — recognised by the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders for the specialised training and supervised experience required to provide safe, evidence-based eating-disorder care, and listed on ANZAED's connect·ed directory of Professionals Credentialed in Eating Disorders. She welcomes referrals for clients across the spectrum of eating and body-image concerns.
You are welcome to make a referral or ask Lian a question using the email form link below, or to give your client the referral letter. The form lets you attach the referral letter and Mental Health Treatment Plan and add any details that you would like Lian to be aware of. Lian will be in touch promptly to confirm next steps.

Clients are welcome to make contact without a referral and Lian sees clients in person in Essendon North and Moonee Ponds, and via telehealth across Australia.
Private health rebates may also be available, depending on the client's level of cover.
